In preparation for Rouyn-Noranda’s 100th anniversary celebrations in 2026, Rouyn-Noranda’s 100th Anniversary Society was founded on September 15, 2021.

We are a unifying and mobilizing organization whose mission is to bring together the residents of Rouyn-Noranda — past, present, and future — to celebrate and share the story of the city’s 100 years.
In 2026, Rouyn-Noranda will thrive throughout the year by offering experiences that showcase its strengths, celebrate its past, embrace its present, and shape its future. The 100th anniversary festivities will mobilize the community, allowing the city to shine both among its residents and beyond the region.
Inclusion • Boldness • Pride
The 100th anniversary celebrations of Rouyn-Noranda belong first and foremost to the community. Rouyn-Noranda’s 100th Anniversary Society gathered public input to help define the spirit of the festivities and guide their development following a community consultation held in the fall of 2023.
The results of this consultation were clear: residents want 2026 to spark imagination and leave a bold impression. The 100th Anniversary Society has committed to meeting the community’s aspirations by strengthening our sense of belonging and pride. Stay tuned for full details on the centennial programming.
The logo’s double meaning, which encourages viewers to tilt their head, reinforces the idea of shifting perspective — seeing things from a new angle. The use of the two “O” letters to form the number 100 also allows for creative variations and commemorative signatures inspired by historical themes and milestones.
This festive signature is enhanced with confetti elements drawn from the fragmented segments of the letters in “Rouyn-Noranda.” The colour palette is freely inspired by the City’s current logo, highlighted by a copper accent — a nod to the national capital of copper. Shades of golden yellow and soft pink evoke long summer sunsets, completing a palette inspired by our vast territory, from the sky to the underground.

The city of Rouyn-Noranda is at a turning point in its history. The centennial is a wonderful opportunity to look back and appreciate the journey so far, but above all to look ahead, toward the future. Pioneers and builders helped shape its story and forge its unique character. It now belongs to new generations to carry that development forward. A new chapter is beginning on many levels, and the horizon has never been so wide and full of possibility.

Rouyn-Noranda is a century of vibrant history!
A culture that is truly ours — a unique culture we have shaped in our own image.

Recognized as one of Québec’s most dynamic cities, Rouyn-Noranda is both a thriving university town and a major cultural hub, experiencing moments of remarkable economic vitality.

Founded in 1951, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the sister cities, the Rouyn-Noranda Historical Society is dedicated to studying and promoting the history of individuals, families, neighbourhoods, institutions and businesses within the City of Rouyn-Noranda.
